The Bariatric Surgical Review Corporation - announced on August 21, 2006:
“Floor supported toilets are now a requirement”. The Centers of Excellence designation will not be awarded without meeting this requirement.

Weight-Loss Centers of Excellence must provide equipment, including toilets, which can bear the weight of patients. Many hospitals have previously installed wall-mounted toilets in order to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, simplify cleaning, and create a contemporary feel. However, the typical wall-mounted toilet is only rated for use by persons weighing 350 pounds or less.
